Email Configuration
Access Webmail
General email configuration information.
Most email clients will ask what type of connection or server you are going to do. We recommend using an IMAP connection. It might be listed inder Internet Mail server. See below for more information about this connection type.
Please use the settings listed to the left when prompted during account setup.
When setting up your email client to connect to your mailbox, we recommend the following settings:
The type of email server that you are connecting to is an Internet mail server.
In most instances, we recommend connecting to your mailbox using IMAP, instead of POP. This will give you the most flexibility, as well as keeping your email client synchronized with your mailbox.
Whenever possible, take advantage of security by using SSL connections.
To logon to your mailbox, your full email address is your user name.
Your outgoing server requires authentication. Use the same information as your incoming server.
It is recommended that you always use an encrypted connection. Always try to use
https://
when accessing the webmail, and use
SSL
connections to the server whenever possible.
**** Helpful notes about using an IMAP connection for email ****
Using IMAP, instead of POP3 to access your email will help keep all of your devices synchronized with your email.
That means that if you see a junk email on your phone, and you delete it, the next time you go to another device or your webmail, that email will no linger be there... No need to have to delete that junk email from multiple places!
Also, if you create folders in your mailbox, you will also be able to access those folders on any of your connected devices. That is something that you cannot do with a POP3 connection. The POP3 connection only has access to your Inbox. Nothing else.
